Some 151 qualified college scholars under the Benguet Provincial Scholarship Program sign contract with the Provincial Government of Benguet headed by Governor Dr. Melchor Daguines Diclas at the Ben Palispis Hall, Capitol Building on December 06, 2021. Under the said program, one student each barangay in the 13 municipalities in Benguet is given opportunity to study with P20,000 financial assistance yearly or P10,000 per semester. Four more students who excelled in sports or technical skills, three ALS passers, and four additional scholars (waived slots from last school year) were also given the same opportunity under the same program.

In the previous years, only eight per municipality or a total of 104 regular scholars had been chosen for the program, but through the initiative of Gov. Diclas and support from the Sangguniang Panlalawigan ng Benguet, the number of slots for regular scholars was raised to 140 in addition to four and two slots for those who excelled in sports and in technical skills, respectively, and one ALS passer per district to give chance to more students in need of financial aid. Gov. Diclas thanked all the officials and staff who made the selection process for the 15th batch of scholars a success. He also said he hopes to improve the program if funds become available as officials study how it would benefit more students in the future.
