Hired Young Individuals und Government Internship Program (GIP)

SOME FORTY young individuals were hired under the Government Internship Program (GIP) through the Office of Congressman Eric Go Yap and full support from Governor Dr. Melchor Daguines Diclas who will be assigned at the PhilHealth and Benguet General Hospital (BeGH) as manpower has been needed at the two facilities with the surge in CoVID-19 cases. Separate Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signing activities between and among the hospital, PhilHealth, and the Office of the Congressman were done Wednesday morning at BeGH and at the Provincial Capitol.

Congressman Yap said more government assistance and hiring of manpower are expected while “YAP-DICLAS ay andirito.” Governor Diclas said programs like this do not only provide source of income but will also give the young job seekers learning experience which is an advantage as they seek permanent government positions in the future. The newly hired personnel (20 each for BeGH and PhilHealth) will be deployed for three months, but Cong. Yap said their contract will surely be renewed. Further, according to the congressman, more hiring of workers through GIP is expected. He said DSWD can be next as they also need manpower with the various activities the agency has been conducting in relation to CoVID-19 and disaster responses. Yap and Diclas have been working together sourcing out funds for projects and programs for the constituents of Benguet.
