The Bureau of Fire Protection Cordillera Administrative Region (BFP-CAR) celebrated its 30th Anniversary on August 19, 2021 with the theme “Salamin ng nakaraan, Larawan ng Kinabukasan”.

Benguet Governor Dr. Melchor Daguines Diclas as the guest speaker thanked the entire family of BFP-CAR for their courageous efforts in protecting people’s lives by bravely responding to disasters and emergencies.

BFP-CAR also expressed their appreciation to the Provincial Government of Benguet under the leadership of Governor Diclas for their support and generosity to BFP by funding the P5 million construction of Bugiuas Fire Station in Buguias, Benguet.

Let us continue to pray for the ongoing search and rescue operation for the couple who were buried in a landslide in Itogon, Benguet in the morning of August 17, 2021. Let us pray for their family.

Benguet Governor Dr. Melchor Daguines Diclas issued a Public Advisory on August 5, 2021 requiring all non-Benguet residents to present a negative RT-PCR test result or a vaccination card with a fully vaccinated status at the checkpoint before entering the province.

With his desire to increase hog production to stabilize the supply and prices of pork in the province after the effects of the African Swine Fever (ASF), Benguet Governor Dr. Melchor Daguines Diclas allocated funds for swine repopulation program.On August 17, 2021, Governor Diclas and Provincial Veterinarian Dr. Miriam Tiongan led the distribution of 14 gilts, or less than a year-old female pigs, and pig feeds to the second batch of beneficiaries of the said program.Some 21 gilts have been distributed for the first batch of beneficiaries on July 21, 2021.The beneficiaries are from areas where there are no reported cases of ASF. They were chosen after thorough inspection and assessment by their respective municipality and the Office of the Provincial Veterinarian.Meanwhile, the Office of PVET made sure that all pigs distributed have Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction negative test result.

Governor Dr. Melchor Daguines Diclas has allotted funds for the improvement of Banyol-Lubas Farm-to-Market Road in Ansagan, Tuba, Benguet to ease the delivery of farmer’s products to the nearest market. The said project has recently been completed. Governor Diclas has been allocating funds for farm-to-market roads in the province as part of his aim for development especially that agriculture is one of the major industries in Benguet.

Governor Dr. Melchor Daguines Diclas is expressing his heartfelt ‘thank you’ to all the health workers and other front liners at the TTMF II, and all other TTMFs, for their continued dedication and sacrifices in our fight against the CoVID-19 pandemic.

Chief of the Philippine National Police (C, PNP) PGEN Guillermo Lorenzo Eleazar paid a courtesy visit to Benguet Governor Dr. Melchor Daguines Diclas (Melchor Diclas) at the Provincial Governor’s Office on August 16, 2021. They and other provincial officials discussed the present situation of the province while it continues to battle the CoVID-19 pandemic under Modified General Community Quarantine (MGCQ).

Some 50 beneficiaries of the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged /Displaced Workers (TUPAD) in Kabayan, Benguet received their payout today, August 12, 2021, in Poblacion, Kabayan. Governor Dr. Melchor Daguines Diclas (Melchor Diclas) and other officials led the distribution of the said payout. The TUPAD program of the government has been helping a lot of displaced workers especially during this time of pandemic.

The Provincial Government of Benguet headed by Governor Dr. Melchor Daguines Diclas expresses a heartfelt Thank You to all the health workers and staff of all our hospitals who continue to ensure the promotion, safeguarding, and preservation of the health of our kakailiyan, especially during this time of pandemic.
