The Province of Benguet led by Governor Dr. Melchor Daguines Diclas along with five other provinces and one city in the region received a plaque of recognition and a P50,000.00 worth of check from the Department of Health (DOH) for the LGUs’ commitment and invaluable contribution in the implementation of the CoVID-19 Vaccination Program. The award was turned over by DOH Undersecretary Dr. Myrna Cabotaje, DOH CAR Regional Director Dr. Rio Magpantay, and Assistant Regional Director Dr. Amelita Pangilinan to Governor Diclas represented by his Executive Assistant Dr. Ryan Guinaran; Dr. Meliarazon Dulay, Provincial Health Officer I; Dr. Mercedes Calpito, DMO V, PDOHO; and Melanie June Pucay, DMO IV, PDOHO, during the DOH regional recognition for CoVID-19 vaccination at Baguio Convention Center on June 23, 2022.“Your perseverance and dedication to protect the public are beyond the call of normal duties during this time of pandemic,” read the plaque. Further, the towns of Tublay, Buguias, and La Trinidad also received the same recognition and a P50,000.00 worth of check each. These towns are the top three performing municipalities in terms of CoVID-19 vaccination rate in the province having inoculated over 70% of their target population. The awards were received by their respective local chief executive and municipal health officer.
