SABLAN KICKS OFF 8th FRUIT FESTIVAL

Sablan town is celebrating its 8th Fruit Festival through various activities lined up for three days which conclude September 4, 2022.

This year’s theme is “An Abundant Bountiful Direction” which focuses on promoting the locally grown fruits of the town being known as the ‘fruit basket of Benguet.’

Municipal officials headed by Sablan Mayor Alfredo Dacumos Jr. together with provincial officials and other guests led the kick-off ceremony on Friday, September 2.

Governor Dr. Melchor Daguines Diclas, represented by David Cabuten, extended his greetings on the town’s reaching another milestone.

“Through the years, you have demonstrated culture of unity and values of determination and excellence notwithstanding the snags and impediments that have truly tested your resilience. These values and culture that you have continue to shape your path towards abundance and bounty. May you continue to nourish this culture as richly and greatly as you grow your wonderfully delicious Sablan fruits,” Governor Diclas said.

He also expressed his strong support to fruit growers as he encouraged them to join the farmers’ congress which is part of the three-day celebration where they can raise their issues and concerns.
